awesome - thanks for re-booting this! one of my favorite substacks. too few journalists do original reporting on social disorder imho, so thank you for doing it (and i wish more journalists in other cities around the country would start!).

Does Gabor Mate’s work in Canada re harm reduction with the addicted population there influence your thinking or are all addicts to be criminalized via rebirth of tough on crime agenda in the city? Tough times to be a progressive sociologist.
