I’ve been pretty diligent since starting this Substack about keeping up a publication pace of about a post a week, which I think is the right balance between providing value to paying subscribers and not filling your inbox with junk. So hopefully that will buy me your forgiveness for being a little thin on content this month. The holidays are part of what’s distracting me, but the bigger (and more exciting) reason is that I’m part of the team working on the Twitter Files, which is the biggest story I’ve been ever been part of.
Given the public interest benefit of the Twitter Files revelations — and, let’s be real, given my professional interest in working on it — I want to give that reporting as much of my attention as possible right now. I also don’t want to rush out subpar stuff here just to fill a quota, which would be a waste of everyone’s time. So I thought it’d be best to just be candid, and hope my readers are ok with it.
I have a few stories coming this month in other publications, which I’ll be sure to share here. But as for original writing just for this space, I need to take a couple weeks off. I’ll be back to the regular pace in the new year, though.
Feel free to dump on me in the comments. Also, Merry Christmas! (If that’s your thing.)
Congratulations on being on the scoop! Totally understandable you'd be focused on that. No need to apologize.
Wishing you and your family happy holidays!
Merry Christmas to you too. And as a free subscriber I ain't gonna feel cheated if you slow your output here. TwitterFiles are the news-landscape earthquake of our time and you should give it your full attention for the duration.
